Location - San Diego, CATitle - Director of AccountingBase - $150 - $160KRelocation - Not providedPosition reports to PresidentESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Represents the firm's financial interests with the Board of Directors, industry associations, and regulatory authorities;· Responsible for financial reporting including monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports both internal and external· Primary responsibility for the Company's annual audit · Responsible for the Company's annual budget process· Integrally involved in financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions including due diligence, and integration· Leadership role in development of Accounting/Finance team including recruitment, retention, training/employee development, process/productivit y improvement initiatives, and accounting/finance system initiatives· Key internal customers include CEO, CFO, COO, Group Presidents, Sales Leaders, MD of Sales, · Key external customers include private equity partner, Administrative Agent on the Company's bank debt, trustee on Company's senior notes, debt investors, rating agencies· Primary responsibility for relationship with the Company's auditors and tax advisers· Presentation of financial information to the Company's Executive Committee · Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCERequires a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and CPA designation; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years related work experience; specifically experience in insurance brokerage financial department preferred. Public company experience preferred.
