Retail
LEAD SALES ASSOCIATES
Provides direction to store staff during assigned shifts. Position also performs cashiering functions, assists customers, processes incoming merchandise, rotates merchandise, stocks shelves, and sets up displays. Responsible for cash register opening and closing procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma plus prior lead experience in a retail setting preferred. Ability to operate cash register, makes change, and complete credit card transactions. Ability to stand for 7-8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds. Effective interpersonal and communications skills to interact well with customers and provide guidance to staff. Ability to communicate clearly in English. Requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings and some holidays. Must have valid California driver’s license, automobile liability insurance and DMV printout at time of application for most store locations.

SALES ASSOCIATES
Assists customers, operates cash register, processes and rotates merchandise, stocks shelves, sets up displays, and performs store housekeeping duties including dusting fixtures and furniture, keeping store merchandise organized and neat, and operates cash register to ring up sales and returns.

Material Handler
ADC (ATTENDANT DONATION CENTER)
Responsible for greeting customers and receiving donations at trailer site. Duties include loading and unloading goods safely, maintaining a neat and orderly donation site, answering customer questions, issuing receipts and safeguarding company assets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED desired but not required. Training will be provided. Effective interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work rotating schedules and locations if necessary including weekends. Overtime required during peak periods. Ability to speak English well enough to receive work directions and communicate effectively with customers and co-workers. Consecutive days off may not be available due to scheduling priorities.
Programs and Services
ASSET PROTECTION MANAGER
Provide effective leadership and management for the asset protection and security needs of Goodwill of Orange County. The manager of Asset Protection will ensure the safe operations of all of Goodwill’s business throughout Orange County, at the stores, the attended donation centers, the community centers and the main offices/warehouses. The manager of Asset Protection will perform other management functions as assigned by the Vice President of Operations & Sales for Goodwill as required for the benefit of the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma; Bachelor of Arts Degree in related field preferred. Five years experience in security, asset protection in retail, distribution and premises liability. Effective oral and written communication skills, and must be able to earn and retain the respect and confidence of the individuals supervised, staff peers, VP of Operations & Sales and the CEO. Proficient in the use of surveillance technology as a tool to accomplish the job and well versed in MS Office and other software products. Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance and a DMV record which is acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company.
ASSISTANT TO VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN SERVICES
Provide assistance in organizing, coordinating, and reporting the activities of the Human Services Division. Responsibilities include composing letters and memos; taking and transcribing minutes of various ETES department meetings; compiling documentation for Program Evaluation reports; creating and distributing newsletter for ETES division. Provides clerical support to ETES department managers and other ETES staff as requested and works on other projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma plus some college coursework preferred. Three to five years of relevant work experience preferred. Proficient skills in Microsoft office. Experience with Pagemaker preferred. Ability to manage projects independently from start to completion. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of management, employees and clients. Effective writing skills. Have a Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance, and a DMV record which is acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company.
ATLR COORDINATOR
Manage the coordination of ATLR (Assistive Technology Loan and Reuse) services (collection sanitation, distribution, and reporting) to ensure effective and efficient services. Responsible for strategic development of ATLR services. Position is also responsible for all related grant administrative activities. Coordinates with Technology Specialist Services Supervisor, and Services Assistants, the following function: ATLR equipment and software inventory, including storage, cleaning, and labeling/bar-coding, diagnosing and repair of equipment, reuse of equipment and/or disposal by coordinating with equipment vendors, tracking of equipment and shipping cost management.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
B.S. degree preferred. Knowledge of assistive technology computers, software, as well as community resources. Experience with inventory management, shipping and receiving preferred. Past outreach experience or knowledge of marketing preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities, ability to work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team of speech-language pathologist, rehabilitation engineer, occupational/ physical therapist, technology specialist, support personnel and others.
DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST-MAJOR GIFTS
Participate in fund-raising activities to achieve department revenue goals. Responsibilities include helping execute major gifts programs specifically related to the Benevon fundraising model and the coordination of a corporate and foundation grants program including the writing and reporting for all non-public grants received, coordinating all donor relations (recognition and stewardship) activities and donor cultivation events, performing related administrative functions and working on special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, liberal arts or related field preferred. Two to three years of relevant experience planning and implementing fundraising programs. Proficient in MS Office and donor databases; Raiser’s Edge software experience preferred. Superior writing and excellent presentation skills required. Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance and a DMV record which is acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company.
ETS – EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SPECIALIST / JOB COACH - VARIOUS PROGRAMS

Provide supervision, training and support to adults with disabilities in community businesses and other job sites to assist in career development and to ensure integrated employment outcomes. This position also provides consultation to employers regarding hiring, training, supervising and supporting adults with disabilities; ensures the quality of work at community or employer job sites; and completes required program documentation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma plus two years experience working with developmentally disabled adults. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Effective writing skills to prepare program documentation. Valid California driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance at time of applying.
ETS – EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SPECIALIST – PBA
Perform job-coaching duties at various sites where there is a need for back-up support. Responsibilities include providing supervision, training and support to adults with disabilities in community businesses and other job sites to assist in career development and to ensure integrated employment outcomes. Ensures quality of work at community or employer job sites; and completes required program documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Two years work experience in a variety of occupational areas with at least one year of experience working with developmentally disabled adults preferred. Familiarity with a variety of MCO/SCOP worksites preferred. Education may substitute for experience. Have own reliable vehicle, a valid California Drivers License, liability insurance, and DMV record which is acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company. Must be able to seat four passengers with approved seat belts. Effective writing skills to prepare required program documentation and prepare memos, reports, etc. Effective interpersonal and communications skills to interface with both clients and employers. PC Proficiency in Word and Excel preferred.
LOSS PREVENTION AGENT
To protect company assets, conduct preliminary investigations of offenses and incidents as directed, detect and apprehend shoplifters; perform general security and safety functions as directed to include key and alarm controls for all stores and facilities. Reports accurately and takes appropriate action on any incident of theft or unauthorized possession of company property as directed (Notifies the Loss Prevention Manger as needed). Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED. Two to Three years experience in Loss Prevention or Asset Protection in a retail environment preferred. Wicklander-Zulawski or equivalent interview training highly favorable. Effective interpersonal and communications skills. Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance, and DMV record which is acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Proficient PC skills with experience in Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
WEB CONTENT COORDINATOR
To create, maintain and acquire content for all of GIOC’s website properties. Responsibilities include: obtaining content information from internal contacts and ensuring timely and accurate input; providing training and guidance to employees regarding access and procedures; identifying problems or concerns and recommending solutions; and providing support for internal user and customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from a four college or university in a related field preferred. 3-5 years PC and Internet support and related marketing experience. Knowledge of various PC software, hardware and fundamentals of how the Internet works. Software requirements include proficiency in the following software programs, formats and technologies:
a. HTML/CSS
b. Microsoft Office Suite
c. Knowledgeable in cross platform / cross browser compatibility issues
d. Adobe Photoshop/Image Ready or other image editing application
e. HTML Editing Software (Expression Web, Dreamweaver or similar program)
